Advertising is everywhere. Images are carefully contrived to sell people things or manipulate their thoughts. When adverts are placed in public spaces, people cannot avoid them, but the image makers lose control. Context can change meanings and the seductive can become sinister.
This series takes advertisements and changes their meanings using juxtaposition and contrast. In some cases this is done to humorous effect – sometimes they become anti-adverts – an attack on a system that wants you to buy more and more things you don’t need.
